The University of Kentucky president says the school will use portions of its contingency fund to save around 100 school jobs during the next fiscal year.

The announcement comes as 100 other academic employees were furloughed on Friday.

The school furloughed around 1,700 academic and UK HealthCare employees last month alone due to revenue shortfalls related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The school says that many of those healthcare workers have returned.
