Floyd County Confirms Case #17

coronavirus

The Floyd County Health Department took to its Facebook page yesterday to announce the 17th confirmed case of Coronavirus in their county. Staff are working to notify all contacts and the patient is managing self-care at home. The health department would like had this to say regarding COVID-19 in the community:

COVID 19 is still in the community and by following a few precautions we can help keep asymptomatic persons from spreading it and lessen the chances that folks become sick from it.

Please wear a mask when you go out ( at minimum in places where there are lots of people in the place together). This includes any retail, event, or gathering.
Wash your hands often and avoid touching your face with unclean hands.
Clean frequently touched places/things often like door knobs, faucets, and countertops.
We understand the need to get our economy moving but just a few precautions can help decrease the risks to our people.

Finally please consider getting tested. Most of our past cases did not know they had the virus. You can get tested for FREE at ARH Archer Clinic in Prestonsburg M-F.
