An apparent bathtub drowning has left a six-year-old boy dead in Laurel County.

It happened last night at a house off of KY 1006, just south of London.

Deputies with the Laurel County sheriff’s Office said the mother called 9-1-1 after finding the child in the bathtub.

The Laurel County Coroner’s Office pronounced the boy dead at the scene.

We’re told that the police believe this drowning to be accidental.

The boy’s body was sent to Frankfort for an autopsy so that the official cause of death can be determined.
