Ashland Man Arrested For Attacking Another Man With A Sword

Officers from the Ashland Police Department were sent to Woodland Avenue yesterday after hearing about an ongoing assault.

Before the officers arrived, an off-duty officer had managed to stop the fighting.

The two individuals who were fighting were identified as Charles E. Stafford and Charles D. Stafford.

According to officers, the two were arguing and then turned violent as soon as Charles D. attacked Charles E. in the head with a sword.
While fleeing the scene, Charles D. hit an unoccupied vehicle with his.

He was located later on, arrested, and charged with first degree assault along with failure to notify the owner of the unattended vehicle that was damaged.

Charles E. was taken to the King’s Daughters Medical Center for the injury to his head sustained by the sword. According to officers, he is currently in stable condition.
