
For the 80th time, the Paintsville Invitational took to the course, admist the pandemic.
The annual tournament has always been a big draw to the mountains and area every year. Other events surrounding the tournament, like the tournament dinner, did have to be canceled, but the tournament lived on.
There were 136 registered participants this weekend.
The tournament and the Paintsville Golf Course made sure everything was completed in a safe way.
Tournament Director, Tyler VanHoose and the Paintsville Golf Course made sure to place plenty of signage up around the facility reminding everybody to wear their masks when they couldn’t socially distance and had several hand sanitizer stations around the first tee, in the golf shops, and cart stations.
VanHoose also states that as the invitational continues to grow they will keep putting money back into the community growing the sport.
The championship flight ended on Sunday with Jason Crum winning the 80th edition of the Paintsville Invitational Golf Tournament.
