COVID-19 Numbers Update from Wednesday

As of 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, Gov. Beshear reported the following COVID-19 numbers:

  • New cases today: 1,635
  • New deaths today: 11
  • Positivity rate: 6.30%
  • Currently hospitalized: 1,066
  • Currently in ICU: 286
  • Currently on ventilator: 125
  • Total cases in KY:113,009 (94,691 confirmed)
  • Total deaths: 1,514 (1,491 confirmed)
  • Total ever hospitalized: 7,447
  • Total ever in ICU: 1,815
  • Test Performed in KY: 2,136,109
  • Recovered from the virus: 19,667

Kentucky Deaths due to COVID-19 by Age Group: (Age group was available for 99.95% of reported deaths)

  • 747 were 80+
  • 402 were 70-79
  • 236 were 60-69
  • 90 were 50-59
  • 28 were 40-49
  • 11 were 39 or younger

Top counties with the most positive cases Wednesday were: Jefferson, Fayette, Kenton, Warren, Laurel, McCracken and Boone.

Those reported lost to the virus Wednesday were between the ages of 59 and 96.

They include: two women, ages 79 and 96, from Hancock County; three women, ages 60, 81 and 89, and four men, ages 59, 71, 72 and 72, from Jefferson County; an 82-year-old woman from Knott County; and a 91-year-old woman from McLean County.

United States Death due to COVID-19 by Age Group: (Age group was available for 173,015 (99%) of reported deaths)

  • 32.2% were from ages 85 or older (55,673)
  • 26.6 % were from ages 75-84 (46,041)
  • 21% were from ages 65-74 (36,290)
  • 15.2% were from ages 50-64 (26,371)
  • Deaths for those 49 or younger only make up 5% of deaths. (8,640)
