During his 4 p.m. update on Monday, Nov. 23, Gov. Beshear reported 2,135 new cases of COVID-19. This bring’s Kentucky’s total cases to 160,232, with 132,799 of those cases being lab confirmed and 27,433 are probable.

Five new deaths were reported Monday. Those reported lost to the virus include a 73-year-old woman from Fayette County; a 73-year-old man from Harlan County; two men, ages 85 and 88, from McCracken County; and a 77-year-old man from Webster County.. This makes a total of 1,792 Kentuckians lost to the virus; though 45 of those are probable and only 1,747 are lab confirmed.

A total of 2,639,200 COVID-19 test have been administered in Kentucky. 2,441,630 were PCR Test, 94,156 were serology test, and 103,414 were antigen test. The positivity rate currently stands at 8.97%.

Currently 1,573 Kentuckians are hospitalized due COVID-19 related symptoms. With 391 in the ICU and 203 on a ventilator. On a positive note, at least 26,611 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus.

Top counties with the most positive cases Monday were: Jefferson, Fayette, Madison, Boone, Kenton and McCracken.
