During his 4 p.m. update on Sunday, Dec. 6th, Gov. Beshear reported 2,567 new cases of COVID-19. This bring’s Kentucky’s total cases to 200,632, with 165,693 of those cases being lab confirmed and 34,939 are probable.

Ten new deaths were reported Sunday. Those reported lost to the virus include a 68-year-old woman from Barren County; two men, ages 64 and 74, from Fayette County; two women, ages 69 and 71, from Jefferson County; a 65-year-old woman from Jessamine County; an 84-year-old man from Laurel County; an 81-year-old man from Lewis County; a 68-year-old man from Mason County; and a 72-year-old man from Washington County.

This makes a total of 2,072 Kentuckians lost to the virus; though 102 of those are probable and only 1,970 are lab confirmed.

The positivity rate on testing currently stands at 9.75%.

Currently 1,673 Kentuckians are hospitalized due COVID-19 related symptoms. With  401 in the ICU and 214 on a ventilator.

Top counties with the most positive cases Sunday were Jefferson, Fayette, Kenton, Boone and Boyd. Jefferson, Fayette and Kenton counties reported 100 or more new cases; Jefferson County alone reported 446.
