
During his 4 p.m. update on Monday, Dec. 7, Gov. Beshear reported 1,972 new cases of COVID-19. This bring’s Kentucky’s total cases to 202,592, with 167,377 of those cases being lab confirmed and 35,215 are probable.
Ten new deaths were reported Monday. Those reported lost to the virus include include an 89-year-old man from Allen County; a 71-year-old man from Bullitt County; an 89-year-old woman from Graves County; a 77-year-old woman from Greenup County; a 92-year-old woman from Jessamine County; two men, ages 86 and 87, from Johnson County; a 76-year-old man from Marshall County; and a 67-year-old woman and an 81-year-old man from Pike County.
This makes a total of 2,082 Kentuckians lost to the virus; though 102 of those are probable and only 1,980 are lab confirmed.
A total of 2,992,319 COVID-19 test have been administered in Kentucky. 2,771,777 were PCR Test, 96,708 were serology test, and 123,834 were antigen test. The positivity rate currently stands at 9.60%.
Currently 17,000 Kentuckians are hospitalized due COVID-19 related symptoms. With 410 in the ICU and 210 on a ventilator.
Top counties with the most positive cases Monday were: Jefferson, Fayette, Warren, McCracken, Boone and Kenton. Each of these counties reported 50 or more new cases; Jefferson County alone reported 343.
On a positve note, at least 30,239 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus.
