According to Pikeville Police, a white 2004 Toyota was driving in the South-bound lane when he drove into the left shoulder and ran into the guard rail, then went into the North-bound lane. The truck was then struck on the passenger’s side by a Wayne Supply service truck.

It is believed that wet roads may have contributed to the two-vehicle collision.

27-year-old Brandon Hamilton died at the scene.

Detective Bruce Collins said drivers should be cautious in the area, especially as the temperatures continue to drop.
