COVID-19 Update from Sunday, December 13th

During his 4 p.m. update on Sunday, Dec. 13, Gov. Beshear reported 2,454 new cases of COVID-19. This bring’s Kentucky’s total cases to 223,104, with 182,563 of those cases being lab confirmed and 40,541 are probable.

Fifteen new deaths were reported Sunday. Those reported lost to the virus include a 75-year-old woman from Bell County; two women, ages 65 and 58, from Boone County; an 84-year-old man from Caldwell County; two women, ages 65 and 74, from Daviess County; an 82-year-old woman and a 79-year-old man from Hopkins County; an 83-year-old man from Jefferson County; an 85-year-old man from Kenton County; a 58-year-old woman from Lawrence County; a 56-year-old man from Oldham County; two women, ages 89 and 50, from Pulaski County, and a 76-year-old man from Taylor County.

This makes a total of 2,207 Kentuckians lost to the virus; though 126 of those are probable and only 2,081 are lab confirmed.

Currently 1,172 Kentuckians are hospitalized due COVID-19 related symptoms. With 434 in the ICU and 224 on a ventilator.

Top counties with the most positive cases Sunday were: Jefferson, Fayette, Boone, Pulaski and Kenton, as each reported 100 or more new cases; Jefferson County alone reported 446.
