COVID-19 Update from Sunday, January 10th

3,232 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in KY on Sunday, January 10th. 2,686 of those cases have been lab confirmed and 546 are probable.

A lab confirmed 313 of those cases and 76 probable were from Kentuckians who are 18 or younger.

This bring’s Kentucky’s total case number to 303,625, with 249,993 of those cases being lab confirmed and 60,632 are probable.

25 new deaths were reported Sunday. This makes a total of 2,901 Kentuckians lost to the virus; though 209 of those are probable and only 2,692 are lab confirmed.

49.4% of those who have lost the battle against COVID-19 have been in the 80+ age group. Though the age group with the most cases at 18.4% are Kentuckians who are 20-29 years old.

A total of 3,619,434 COVID-19 test have been administered in Kentucky. 3,310,799 were PCR 103,544 were serology test, and 205,091 were antigen test. The positivity rate currently stands at 12.45%.

Currently 1,713 Kentuckians are hospitalized due COVID-19 related symptoms. With 380 in the ICU and 212 on a ventilator.

On a positve note, at least 12.85% of Kentuckians have recovered from the virus.
