On Thursday, January 21st the state of Kentucky reported 3,728 new cases of COVID-19. This makes a total of 338,034 reported cases of COVID-19 in the commonwealth. 267,624 of those cases have been officially lab confirmed whereas the remaining 3,034 cases are probable.

This makes a total of 3,301 Kentuckians lost to the virus; though 267 of those are probable and only 3,034 have been officially lab confirmed.
A total of 3,836,544 COVID-19 test have been administered in Kentucky. 105,445 were PCR Test, 270,001 were serology test, and 249,538 were antigen test. The positivity rate currently stands at 11.05%.
Currently 1,604 Kentuckians are hospitalized due COVID-19 related symptoms. With 395 in the ICU and 209 on a ventilator.
Top counties with the most positive cases on Thursday were: Jefferson, Fayette, Kenton, Boone, Hardin, Warren and Daviess. Each of these counties reported 125 or more new cases; Jefferson County alone reported 604.
On a positive note, at least 41,469 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus. The Governor’s office also reports that 332,200 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been received in Kentucky and 209,079 doses have been administered, statewide. Of the 117,975 doses recieved by the Long-Term Care Facilites Program 41,788 have been administered to long-term care facility residents and staff.
