
On Monday, January 25th the state of Kentucky reported 1,268 new cases of COVID-19. This makes a total of 347,836 reported cases of COVID-19 in the commonwealth. 274,512 of those cases have been officially lab confirmed whereas the remaining 73,324 cases are probable.

This makes a total of 3,460 Kentuckians lost to the virus; though 283 of those are probable and only 3,177 have been officially lab confirmed.
A total of 3,929,918 COVID-19 test have been administered in Kentucky. 3,525,107 were PCR Test, 106,274 were serology test, and 298,537 were antigen test. The positivity rate currently stands at 9.93%, the first time since Dec. 31st the positivity rate has been below 10%.
Currently 1,539 Kentuckians are hospitalized due COVID-19 related symptoms. With 374 in the ICU and 203 on a ventilator.
Top counties with the most positive cases Monday were: Jefferson, Fayette, Calloway and Kenton. Each of these counties reported 40 or more new cases.
On a positive note, at least 41,760 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus. The Governor’s office also reports that as of Jan 25th, 345,800 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been received in Kentucky and 261,707 doses have been administered, statewide. Of the 120,900 doses recieved by the LTCF Program, 47,105 have been administered to long-term care facility residents and staff.
