COVID-19 Update by the numbers for KY as of Thursday February 4th

On Thursday, February 4th, the state of Kentucky reported 2,500 new cases of COVID-19. This makes a total of 372,012 reported cases of COVID-19 in the commonwealth. 290,000 of those cases have been officially lab confirmed whereas the remaining 82,012 cases are probable.

58 new deaths were reported on Thursday. To see a list of those reported lost to the virus from Tuesday,  click here.

This makes a total of 3,921 Kentuckians lost to the virus; though 345 of those are probable and only 3,576 have been officially lab confirmed.

A total of 4,138,554 COVID-19 tests have been administered in Kentucky. 3,653,551were PCR Test, 108,691 were serology test, and 376,312 were antigen test. The positivity rate currently stands at 8.37%.

Currently 1,340 Kentuckians are hospitalized due COVID-19 related symptoms. With 368 in the ICU, and 171 on a ventilator.

Top counties with the most positive cases on Thursday were: Jefferson, Fayette, Kenton, Boone and Madison. Each of these counties reported 100 or more new cases; Jefferson County alone reported 400.

At least 44,394 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus. The Governor’s office also reports that 410,050 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been received in Kentucky and 339,909 doses have been administered, statewide. Of the 80,925doses received by the Long-Term Care Facility Program, 61,355 have been administered to long-term care facility residents and staff.
