COVID-19 Update for the state of KY as of Sunday, February 7th

On Sunday, February 7th, the state of Kentucky reported 1,532 new cases of COVID-19. This makes a total of 377,790 reported cases of COVID-19 in the commonwealth. 293,708 of those cases have been officially lab confirmed whereas the remaining 84,082 cases are probable.

This makes a total of 4,051 Kentuckians lost to the virus; though 362 of those are probable and only 3,689 have been officially lab confirmed.

A total of 4,175,368 COVID-19 test have been administered in Kentucky. 3,676,301 were PCR Test, 3,676,301 were serology test, and 390,097 were antigen test. The positivity rate currently stands at 7.97%.

Currently 1,235 Kentuckians are hospitalized due COVID-19 related symptoms. With 290 in the ICU and 140 on a ventilator.

Top counties with the most positive cases Sunday were: Jefferson, Fayette, Boone and Kenton. Each of these counties reported 100 or more new cases; Jefferson County alone reported 394.

At least 44,945 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus. The Governor’s office also reports that 410,050 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been received in Kentucky and 373,772 doses have been administered, statewide. Of the 80,925 doses received by the Long-Term Care Facility Program, 69,086 have been administered to long-term care facility residents and staff.
