Michael “Mike” Trent Auxier passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at his home with his wife and daughter by his side. Michael was born on August 10, 1934 to the late Judge Jean L. Auxier and Sylvia Trent Auxier in Kansas City, Missouri.

He was a former teacher at Betsy Layne High School for many years. During that time, he served as President of the Floyd County Education Association and President of the Kentucky Education Association. Mike left his teaching career behind in 1972 to go to work for the Kentucky Teacher’s Retirement System in Frankfort, KY where he continued to work until his retirement in 1997. He was loved and respected by his former students, co-workers, friends, and his family.

Visitation will begin Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 6pm at the funeral home

Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 22, 2021 at 1pm at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, Kentucky

Burial will follow at Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, Kentucky
