A man was pulled over by Johnson County Police, and ended up in jail after police found multiple bags and jars of marijuana and hallucinogenic mushrooms in his possession. 40 year old Daniel Gardner was going 72 miles an hour on US 23, and when police attempted to pull him over, he tried to hide in a dead end road.
When Police asked Gardner why he had tried to hide, Gardner responded that he was on his way to visit his son and did not want a ticket. Gardner was then asked to empty his pockets where police spotted a large wad of cash. Gardner dismissed the cash by saying he had been shopping that day.
The officer noticed a strong marijuana smell coming from the car and upon searching the car they found 2 large jars, 3 large bags and 2 sandwich bags of marijuana and 2 sandwich bags of mushrooms. Gardner told police most of the marijuana was for personal use but did admit to selling some of it. He was charged with trafficking marijuana, trafficking hallucinogenic drugs, DUI, and other charges.
