The Martin County Sheriff’s Department is offering a $2,000 reward to anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the person(s) who shot a horse on New Route 3 on the Mayo 5 Strip Job. The horse has died. The Sheriff’s Department posted the following update to their Facebook page, “Sheriff John Kirk located this deceased horse on March 25, 2021 off New Route 3 on Mayo 5 Strip Job. This horse has been shot. Sheriff Kirk is offering a $2000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who shot this horse. Any information you may have about the shooting of this horse contact the Martin County Sheriff’s Office at 606-298-2828 or the Kentucky State Police 606-433-7711. Sheriff John Kirk and his department take these crimes very serious.”
