On Friday, Kentucky State Police were involved in a pursuit after an attempt to pull a car over on Ky-7 in Isom. The driver of a 1994 Ford Mustang took off on the Letcher county roads, but police shortly after called off the pursuit with concerns of public safety. Officers later found the car in a single-vehicle accident, where the driver, 38 year old Thomas Riley, had run from the scene. Riley was charged with numerous traffic violations as well as possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Riley was taken to the Letcher County Jail.
