Floyd and Knott counties have joined forces to expand the region’s tourism opportunities.

The Floyd county judge executive has said the counties are working together to complete the groundwork for a potential resort in the area.

With $100,000 in grant funding from the Department of Local Government, plans to conduct a study in both Floyd and Knott counties to find the ideal location for a resort are underway.

The space looks to highlight different adventures such as hiking and boating. Plans are still in early stages.
