A state of emergency has been declared in Knott County due to recent flooding from heavy rainfall this week.

Officials say water levels are dropping but that some areas are still underwater.

Rain has washed out some of the roadways, but repair crews are doing their best to get roads back to working order as quickly as possible.

Please be cautious when traveling through the county and do not attempt to drive through water in roadways.
