Police say that a buffalo has not only escaped from its owner’s property, but also managed to elude capture overnight.

The Lexington police say they received a call around 6:20 pm reporting that a loose buffalo had broken through a resident’s fence.

Police contacted the Animal Care and Control, who told them that the animal was too large for them to be able to handle.

Police were able to determine that the buffalo came from a neighbor’s property and the search was called off around 7:45 pm.
