Dixie E. Neeley Calhoun age 84 of Prestonsburg widow of the late Clifford “Chick” Calhoun passed away from this life on Monday April 26th, 2021 at her residence. Dixie was born on December 10th, 1936 in Myrtle, Kentucky to the late Johnny and Mada Williams Neeley. Dixie was a homemaker and member of The United Baptist Iron Hill Association.
She is survived by her children: John Larry Calhoun and his wife Inez, Sandra Mae Metcalf and her husband Ronnie, Kathlene Guess and her husband Jim and Kimberly Ann Calhoun all of Prestonsburg; her brothers & sisters: Gordon Neeley of Prestonsburg, Fred Neeley of Lexington, Mary Alice Elkins & Jacquelyn Childers both of Prestonsburg; and a host of Grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband she is preceded in death by her brothers: John A. Neeley, Don Neeley, Robert Neeley, Cecil Neeley and Harold Dean Neeley; and one sister: Coetyn Neeley.
Funeral services for Mrs. Calhoun will be Friday April 30th, 2021 at 11am at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in Martin, Kentucky with ministers of the United Baptists Iron Hill Association officiating. Burial will follow at The Calhoun Family Cemetery (Right Fork Bull Creek) Prestonsburg, Kentucky.
Visitation will begin after 6pm Wednesday and all day Thursday at the funeral home.
