Sarah Jean Newman Hall of Hi Hat, Kentucky died peacefully in her sleep on April 27, 2021. Sarah, daughter of Willard Riley Newman and Sylvia Hall Newman, was born along with her twin brother, Willis, at her family home in Hi Hat, Kentucky on November 9, 1945. She was the wife of David Eugene Hall of Hi Hat, KY.

Sarah, a 1964 graduate of Wheelwright High School, worked at the Hi Hat, Kentucky Post Office for 42 years, first as an assistant to her mother, Postmaster Sylvia Hall Newman, and later as the postmaster herself. She made the best fried chicken in Kentucky. She gave generously to others, and she cried easily for others.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, KY, with James Tackett and Don Fraley Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Newman Cemetery, Hi Hat, KY, visitation is from 5 until 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
