Meth Distribution Conspiracy Out Of Wise County

A man out of Wise County has pleaded guilty to conspiring with others to smuggle meth from Georgia into Southwestern Virginia to be distributed. 23-year-old Corey Austin Hammond pleaded guilty this past week for conspiracy to distribute meth and possession of meth with the intent to distribute.

 

Hammond admitted in court that he had purchased over 500 grams of meth between July of 2019 and December of 2020, with plans to distribute it throughout Wise and Lee Counties.

 

He now faces a potential maximum of life in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced in September.
