
A man out of Clay County is now facing multiple charges following his encounter with police.
At around 4am Thursday morning, a Manchester Police Officer alongside a Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a call of a stolen vehicle on Little Bull Lane. Upon their arrival, both officers began to look for the stolen truck and trailer. During their search, however, the officers were dispatched to another scene on Lipps Branch, where a suspect was seen with the vehicle’s they were looking for.
On their way to the scene, they ran into the suspect travelling along Highway 2000, traveling at a high rate of speed. The officers activated their blue lights and sirens to begin attempting to make a traffic stop. The stolen vehicle made its way towards Highway 421 towards Manchester, finally coming to a stop near the Little Caesar’s.
The driver of the stolen vehicle, 21-year-old Paul Alex Day, of Manchester, is said to have struggled with officers before they were able to get him into custody.
Day is charged with fleeing or evading police, theft by unlawful taking, resisting arrest, DUI, and wanton endangerment. He is currently being held in the Clay County Detention Center.
