A man from Logan County was arrested after an off-duty police officer spotted him allegedly attacking a woman at a Kroger this past Sunday.
When the off-duty officer attempted to put a stop to the conflict, he says the man, 45-year-old Christopher Todd Muncey, took an aggressive stance and began cursing at him.
At that point, the officer called in other on-duty officers from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, who arrested Muncey and discovered a bag of marijuana on his person. He was then placed into the back of a cruiser while police continued to interview witnesses.
The victim of the assault told police that Muncey had “roughed her up” before she went into the store, then proceeded to head-butt her when she came out, knocked her down, then began to choke her. The woman also informed police that Muncey abuses her on a weekly-basis and that she feared for her life.
Muncey was charged with assault, domestic battery, strangulation, possession of a controlled substance, and disorderly conduct.
