Auval Lonzo Gunter, Jr, age 77, passed away Friday, August 6 at 4 p.m. at his home. Al, as he was known in Eastern KY and Jr in Western KY, was the son of Auval Lonzo Gunter and Willie Pauline Bailey Gunter born in Mayfield, KY on April 4, 1944.

Visitation will be on Sunday, August 8th from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Community United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will occur on Monday, August 9th at 1 p.m. at the Community United Methodist Church with Reverends Leigh Ann Maynard and John Carwell officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family have requested that tokens of love and sympathy be made to Community United Methodist Church 147 Burke Ave. Prestonsburg, KY 41653, Prestonsburg Senior Citizens 76 Patsy Evans Dr. Prestonsburg, KY 41653 or KY Blood Center 472 S. Mayo Tr. Pikeville, KY 41501. The family have chosen the professional and caring staff of Carter Funeral Home to oversee this last act of love, honor and respect.
