Willie Gene Newsome 72, of Kermit, West Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV. He was born on June 20, 1949 in Mingo County to the late Noah and Florence Sartin Newsome.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at the Neely Branch United Baptist Church in Kermit, WV with Russell Ball, Lonnie Smith and Mike Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at the Wayne Sturgell Jr. Family Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church on Saturday after 4:00pm. Mask are strongly suggested for all in attendance. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, KY.
