A man out of Perry County was found dead just two days after he was reported missing.
47-year-old Stacy Lynn Coots, of Cornettsville, had previously been spotted on Friday afternoon. His car was found Saturday along Rogers Branch, with no sign of Coots in the area.
His body was discovered on Sunday in the forest a short distance away from his car.
According to the Perry County Sheriff’s Office, evidence suggests that Coots had walked into the woods to cut a tree down. The tree is said to have fallen on top of him, killing him in the process.
