Irene Nell Wakeland, age 66, of Pikeville, KY., passed from this life Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Irene was born on February 6, 1955 to the late Matt and Nell Carnes Slone in Pike County, KY.

The family will be accepting friends at Thacker Memorial Funeral Home, Thursday, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM with services beginning at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be Friday, also at the funeral home, at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Annie E. Young Cemetery in Pikeville, KY. Randy May will officiate over all services for Irene.
