Pikeville Police received a tip that led them to discovering a large amount of drugs along with the arrest of three people.

The tip alleged that three people who were staying at the Hatfield McCoy Lodge would be leaving with a large quantity of illegal drugs.

Police staked out the motel and noticed that when the suspect car left, the front seat passenger wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.

They pulled the vehicle over and spoke to the driver, 39-year-old Gregory Lee Smith, of Morehead, who police say had a hand-rolled cigarette in his lap, which later turned out to be marijuana. Officers then performed a search of the vehicle and found a large amount of meth along with a large amount of cash, plastic bags, three sets of digital scales, a stolen gun, and an additional firearm.

The arrested were 31-year-old Joekeyta Jordan, of Maysville, 36-year-old Anthony Bogucki, of Lexington, and Smith. All were charged with meth trafficking, possession of a gun by a convicted felon, and receiving stolen property. Smith faces additional charges for traffic violations among others.

All three are currently being held in the Pike County Detention center.
