A man out of Pike County, who was previously indicted on charges of abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence after a missing woman’s body turned up near his home, has now been charged with murder.

On December 27th of last year, authorities discovered the body of 39-year-old Clara Morgan O’Brien, of Feds Creek, wrapped in plastic bags and stuffed into a drainage pipe near the Lick Creek home of 44-year-old Chadwick Hunt.

O’Brien had been missing since December 19th of last year. An autopsy revealed that she died after being stabbed and beaten.

After giving multiple stories to police, Hunt claimed that O’Brien had been killed at his home by another person and that he had helped to dispose of the body some days later. The initial charges of evidence tampering and abuse of a corpse were added to this past Thursday, when a grand jury also charged him with murder in a superseding indictment.

Hunt is now due to appear in court on September 15th to answer for the new charge. He currently remains in the Pike County Detention Center on a $25,000 cash bond.
