Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Dylan Messer arrested Myron Hiller Flanagan, age 39, of Corbin, on Monday evening September 6, 2021 at approximately 5:08 PM. The arrest occurred on KY 30 approximately 4 miles north of London while Deputy Messer was being dispatched to a complaint in a business parking lot off Highway 30 in northern Laurel County.

While on route to the complaint, Deputy Messer was advised that the suspect vehicle – a gray Chevrolet Equinox – had left the scene. Deputy Messer observed the suspect vehicle traveling southbound on KY 30 and attempted a traffic stop activating his emergency equipment. The vehicle traveled some distance before stopping in the middle of the roadway, then traveled forward on the roadway again before pulling off on the right shoulder.

As Deputy Messer approached the suspect vehicle it began to roll forward causing Deputy Messer to instruct the driver to put the vehicle in park position. As Deputy Messer conducted his investigation he detected the odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from the driver. An investigation was conducted and the driver was determined to be under the influence.

Myron Flanagan was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense – and was lodged in the Laurel County correctional center.
