Jessica Yates, age 65 of Staffordsville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Born August 11, 1956 in Johnson County, she was the daughter of Mary Cathryen Williams Melvin and the late Douglas G. Melvin.

Funeral services will be held 11:00am Thursday, September 30, 2021 at the Highland Church of Christ in Paintsville. Burial will follow in the Johnson County Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville. Jerry Scott will officiate. Friends may visit at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00-9:00pm, and on Wednesday from 9:00am-9:00pm. Visitation on Thursday will be held at the church after 10:00am until time of services at 11:00am. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.
