A man out of Lawrence County is now jail after police say he filed a false report.

 

49-year-old Lonnie Maynard is said to have called 911 this past Friday night to report someone had cut his 15-year-old daughter’s throat and that she was in need of immediate assistance.

 

When deputies arrived at the home, they found that all the lights were off and no one answered when they knocked at the door. After several minutes of waiting, deputies claim to have heard someone cough accompanied by a gurgling noise. After hearing this, deputies entered the home, where they found Maynard alone.

 

Maynard informed deputies that he did not know where his daughter was. When asked if he knew if she had been hurt, he told officers that he didn’t know, but thought she might be. Officers later found Maynard’s daughter unharmed, at a house next-door.

 

Maynard was arrested and charged with falsely reporting an incident.
