Stolen Items Turn Up Drugs and Paraphernalia

A man from Rockcastle, who was arrested this past Monday morning, has been charged with robbery and drug offenses. At around 9:00 AM Monday morning, Kentucky State Police Post 11, in London, received a call from Rockcastle 911, stating that someone’s car had been broken into at a local store in the northern part of the county.

Police discovered that, while the victim was inside of the sore, Jason P. Northern, of Mount Vernon, entered their vehicle and stole several items. The victim observed Northern’s car in the Roundstone Community. While waiting for police, Northern is said to have exited the home while holding a hammer and steel rod, motioning in a threatening manner.

As soon as detectives were able to get to the scene of Northern’s house and get permission to search it, they discovered the victim’s stolen items, along with several grams of suspected meth, digital scales, and other paraphernalia in addition to growing marijuana and baggies filled with pills.

Northern was arrested and charged with robbery, menacing, tampering with physical evidence, theft by unlawful taking, cultivating marijuana, and trafficking a controlled substance. He was lodged in the Rockcastle County Detention Center.
