The search for Owsley County Sheriff Brent Lynch has now come to an end, as he was arrested on an assault charge on Thursday.

 

This coming after a fight that broke out last week in a girls’ basketball game between Owsley County and Perry County Central. Lynch is said to have been a member of the Owsley County coaching staff.  The fight began during the game and Lynch allegedly assaulted one of the girls.

 

Lynch has now been charged with fourth-degree assault, a misdemeanor. He is being held in the Three Forks Regional Jail in Holden.

 

Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard is handling this investigation.
