A woman out of Southwestern Virginia was recently sentenced to 10-years in prison for her role in a conspiracy that defrauded the government of $1.5 million.

31-year-old Farren Ricketts, of Jonesville, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to commit mail fraud, and aggravated identity theft.

Ricketts is said to have been the mastermind behind this conspiracy as she admitted to filing fraudulent claims for over 150 people. She even made fake documents to support these claims. And she created a business to provide the service, charging more than 120 people for filing these false claims.
