Three Arrested In Connection With Catalytic Converter Thefts

arrest-7

On Friday, Ashland Police Department arrested three people in connection with catalytic converter thefts.

44 year old Steven Leslie Clark, of Boyd County, 30 year old Bethany Nicole Sturm, of Ashland, and 25 year old Daniel W. Kinder of Catlettsburg were all arrested and are being charged with theft by unlawful taking.

Officers say the incident started around 3am Friday when a neighbor heard a sawing sound outside of their home. When they looked out of the window, they saw a blue Jeep parked next to their truck and someone underneath the truck, with another person standing beside it. The resident took a picture and called 911.

Police say a description of the blue Jeep matched a similar call from minutes before.

A Boyd County deputy spotted the Jeep at a Speedway along US 60 in Ashland. Ashland Police Officers responded to the scene, and the suspects were taken into custody.

During the investigation, they had found cordless saws and two catalytic converters in plain view. All three were taken to the Boyd County Detention Center.
