Officials with the American Red Cross say their organization is facing its worst blood shortage in over a decade.
The Red Cross has seen a 62% drop in total blood drives at schools and colleges since the start of the pandemic.
To help combat the shortage, officials have organized a blood drive at the Mountain Arts Center in Prestonsburg. The drive will be held on Thursday, January 13th, from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. To schedule an appointment to donate, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-733-2767.
