The second defendant in a Letcher County meth distribution case has reached a plea deal with federal prosecutors.
Bryan Wayne Branham, of McRoberts, entered into a guilty plea this past Friday to one count of distributing meth. Branham admitted his involvement in the sale of a pound of meth from an undercover informant last June. According to officials, Larry Wayne Bentley had arranged the sale, but was pulled away at the last minute and asked Branham to take over for him.
Bentley had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy and distribution of meth. He now faces between 10 years and life in prison when he is sentenced this March.
Branham’s plea has yet to be accepted by the judge. If it is, he will face between five and 40 years in prison.
