A woman out of Pike County is accusing a Letcher County Sheriff’s Deputy of forcing her to engage in sexual intercourse with him in exchange for favorable treatment.

45-year-old Sabrina Adkins, of Pikeville, filed a lawsuit in federal court  on Monday against deputy Ben Fields as well as Sheriff Mickey Stines.

Adkins was placed under home-incarceration in June. This coming after she was indicted on drug charges in Letcher County. Deputy Fields was assigned to oversee her incarceration. He allegedly removed Adkins’ ankle monitor, telling her she wouldn’t have to pay for monitoring if the two could work out another means of payment.

Following that interaction, Adkins met Fields in the district judge’s chambers at night on six different occasions for the purpose of sex. She claims she only complied because of the deputy’s position of power combined with her inability to pay for the ankle monitor.

The lawsuit is currently asking for compensatory and punitive damages.
