A traffic stop at David led police to find a quantity of methamphetamine, which resulted in trafficking charges against two people.
On February 4th, KSP Trooper Billy Ball conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with an obscuring tinted cover over the rear license plate. While interacting with the occupants of the vehicle, 30 year old Myron Dean Herring Jr of Columbus Ohio, and the passenger, 20 year old Zoe White, Ball noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
The citation stated that Ball detained both Herring and White and searched the vehicle.
During the search Ball found a plastic bag containing a clear crystal like substance suspected to be methamphetamine.
According to the citation, neither Herring nor White would speak with officers about the substance.
The pair were lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center on a charge of first degree trafficking in a controlled substance and Herring was also charged with a traffic charge.
