A man who is said to have allegedly appeared with a gun at South Floyd Elementary has been arrested.

Last Wednesday, police were notified that a man with a gun had been spotted at the property and ran away. This prompted a school lockdown and subsequent manhunt in the area.

The lockdown was later lifted, but the man in question was nowhere to be found. That Saturday, Kentucky State Police arrested 34-year-old Louis Wideman, of Frankfort.

He is currently being held at the Floyd County Detention Center on charges of possession of a weapon on school property, felon in possession of a handgun, and fleeing police.
