
A search warrant and subsequent arrest warrant were issued for a 33-year-old Donnie McClanahan, of Pikeville. This coming after he stole $25,450 worth of items from a home after being hired to paint there on February 15th.
Following a search of the suspect’s home, police managed to uncover many of the stolen items. On February 16th, an officer initiated a traffic stop on McClanahan on US 119.
McClanahan is said to have jumped out of the passenger-side window of his vehicle before fleeing towards a wooded area. After being forcefully removed from that area, many more of the stolen items were recovered both from his vehicle as well as on his person.
He is said to have picked up additional charges following the discovery of narcotics after a cavity search.
McClanahan is being charged with theft by unlawful taking, fleeing and evading police, wanton endangerment of a police officer, resisting arrest, as well as several drug-related charges.
