shooting-2

A man out of Mingo County was charged with murder following a shooting that took place on Thursday.

50-year-old Heath Rose, of Gilbert Creek, was allegedly in an argument with Joda Browning, also of Gilbert Creek, at the Crestwood Apartments, in Newtown. Browning is said to have shoved Rose at some point in the argument, then entered his car to leave with a woman and her 8-year-old daughter as passengers.

It was then that Rose allegedly grabbed a 9mm handgun from his vehicle. As Browning attempted to leave the parking lot, Rose is said to have stuck the gun into the car window and then fired into Browning’s face.

Browning died at the scene.

Rose was later arrested and charged with murder in the first-degree along with two counts of wanton endangerment. He is currently being held at the Southwestern Regional Jail, in Holden.
