A Knott County man was sentenced to 294-months in federal prison for charges related to two armed car-jackings.

According to his plea agreement, Christopher Adam Cole admitted to using a gun in August to steal a vehicle from someone and then using it again to steal a separate vehicle from someone else in September.

Cole is said to have been assisted during the September car-jacking by Angela “Granny” Vanover, of Perry County. She pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting the carjacking and was subsequently sentenced to 126-months in federal prison.

Vanover was also ordered to pay restitution to his victim.

Cole was assisted in the August car-jacking by Brandi Hurt, of Perry County, who pleaded guilty. She was sentenced to 67-months in federal prison.

This investigation was completed by the ATF, Perry County Sheriff’s Office, and the Knott County Sheriff Office, with additional assistance from the Kentucky State Police.
