Pike County Man Sentenced On Health Care Fraud And Wire Fraud Charges

36-year-old Eugene Sisco III, of Pikeville, was sentenced on Tuesday to serve 125 months in prison. This coming after a jury convicted him in 2021 of wire fraud and health care fraud.

 

Sisco ran several treatment facilities throughout Pike, Floyd, and Harlan Counties that offered treatment for patients suffering from opioid addiction. Sisco deceived several of his patients into believing that they were not eligible to bill Medicaid for the services provided. He instead took cash as payment for these services. Sisco was also engaged in a health care fraud which caused the loss of more than $2 million to the Medicaid and Medicare programs.

 

Sisco is required to serve at least 85% of his prison sentence and at least $5.7 million in restitution.
